Questions reception is asked most often
Do I need an appointment, or can I walk in?
Walk-ins are welcome during OPD hours. Patients with a confirmed booking are seen first, so calling or messaging ahead usually means a much shorter wait, especially for the evening OPD and the gynaecology clinic.
What is the quickest way to book?
A WhatsApp message with your name, the department you need and a preferred day is usually fastest. Reception confirms the slot and tells you anything you need to bring or any fasting required.
Which tests need fasting?
Fasting blood sugar, lipid profile and some liver tests need 8 to 12 hours without food. Water is allowed. Call reception before you come and they will confirm what your specific test needs.
Do I need a referral slip for a lab test or ultrasound?
No. You can have a laboratory test or an ultrasound done without a referral from another clinic. If you are not sure which test you need, see a general physician first so the right one is ordered.
Is ultrasound available at any time during the day?
Ultrasound runs in a fixed daily slot from 2:30 PM to 4:00 PM, off Friday and Sunday, and is by appointment. A scan done properly takes time, which is why the slot is booked rather than open.
Is a female doctor available?
Yes. Dr. Nayab Saad is our female gynaecologist and Dr. Nazia Waheed performs the ultrasound scans, so a woman can be seen and scanned by female doctors throughout.
Which days is the clinic closed?
Rawat Medical Center is open all 7 days a week, 365 days a year — including Fridays and Sundays. Individual doctors keep their own schedules within OPD hours, so check the timings table above for the department you need.
Do you handle emergencies?
We handle minor emergencies, dressings and day procedures during OPD hours. For chest pain with sweating, difficulty breathing, heavy bleeding, a serious accident, fits or loss of consciousness, go directly to the nearest hospital emergency department or call 1122. Do not lose time travelling to a clinic first.
How long does it take to get a reply to my message?
Messages sent during OPD hours are usually answered the same day. Anything sent after closing time is answered as soon as the clinic reopens.
